Situated opposite the entrance to Minster Court on Mincing Lane, Davy’s newest wine bar benefits from views of the stunning bronze horses guarding the entrance to Minster Court. The interior combines a typically Victorian feel with some modern finishes both in the bar area and the dining room. There is plenty of space to sit or stand whilst enjoying a good array of bar snacks. The wine list offers the Davy's reliable quality everyday wines and also is “extended”, featuring some Cru Classe Bordeaux, top Burgundies and a sensational Vintage Port, all at sensible prices.
We also offer additional fine wines from the Cellar.
The dining room can seat over 100 and is airy while being interestingly and well laid out. There are in addition four private meeting / private dining areas. The Boardroom, The Alcove, The Office and The Private Room. All offer that slightly special feeling although in the first three you can if you wish share the atmosphere of the dining room. The Private dining room is on the first floor and offers an escape from just about everything (except service which is on hand at the ring of a bell!).
The menu is balanced offering a mix of more notably healthy options with some good fillers. Char-grilled steaks are sourced from one of Scotland’s finest butchers. The smoked salmon is delicious, as is the Alderton Ham. Old favourites such as Bangers and Mash are always available, and the cheese board is as reliable as ever. In all, carefully sourced good food with little fuss and lovely wines.
