PELASSA of PIEDMONT – An Introduction.

Barolo may be its star, but the Italian region of Piedmont is home to other wonderful wine styles.  Fragrant and racy Roero Arneis shines among the whites; whilst Barbera from Alba and the elegant Nebbiolo-Barbera blends from the Langhe hills are reds not to be missed.

Pelassa is a small family estate founded in the heart of Piedmont in the 1960s by Mario Pelassa.  Aged just 10, he took the advice to get ‘on yer bike’, to help the family fortunes, cycling into Turin with a few flasks of Nebbiolo to sell.  From these humble origins the winery was established.  Now run by his charming sons Daniele and Davide, the wines are quickly gaining worldwide acclaim.

All are UK exclusives for Davy’s.
