Modern Slavery Policy

Like all other responsible Companies in the UK we are committed to the principles enshrined in the Modern Slavery Act that any individual should be protected from any risk of slavery or human trafficking in their personal lives. Our own employees in the UK have those protections built into their individual terms and conditions of employment in writing and by the enforcement and protection of individual rights through our operating procedures.

We seek and expect compliance to those same principles from those organisations engaged within our supply chains and will not knowingly trade with any third party proven to operate in breach of the human rights which the Act seeks to promote.

Organisation’s Structure

We are an independent family owned company working in the Wine Merchant and Bar/Restaurant industry based in Greenwich and trading from inside the M25.

We operate three separate companies Davy & Co Ltd, Davy’s of London (Wine Merchants) Ltd and Mullins & Westley Ltd all three trading under the Davy’s umbrella.

In total we employ just over 400 people.

Our Business

Davy’s operate 26 wine bars/restaurants along with a Wine Merchants which sells by wholesale but also retail, online and has a fine wine division. In addition we have a cigar shop.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain consists of individual wine producers from around the world and small to medium sized food suppliers all based within the UK. Where possible we prefer to deal with family owned companies but in all cases work with entities run by like minded people. Where ever possible food products are sourced from British producers, where this is not possible we look to purchase Fair Trade or Rainforest Alliance products or products from large well known brands with a clear ethical policy in place.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

Due Diligence Process for Slavery and Human Trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we continue to work to identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.

Further Steps

Following a review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken to ensure that here is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains we intend to raise the issue in all supplier annual reviews and continue to raise it as part of any supplier selection process.
