Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using the site or visiting our venues.

E-Gift Vouchers and Experiences

Once activated, the value on a Davy’s Group E-gift voucher can be used as full or part payment at any Davy’s Wine Bar, Wine Shop or online at davywine.co.uk.

The monies on an e-gift voucher cannot be exchanged for cash. No change or refund will be given but remaining balances will remain for future redemption.  All monies on the E-gift voucher must be used by the expiry date which is 12 months from the date of purchase. Any remaining balance will be deducted on expiry.

E-gift voucher balances can be checked at any Davy’s Wine Bar, Wine Shop or online at davywine.co.uk.

Davy’s reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time or withdraw the E-gift voucher with reasonable notice. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages can only be sold and served to persons aged 18 or over. Challenge 21 scheme is in operation, that encourages anyone who is over 18, but looks under 21 to carry acceptable ID when they want to buy alcohol.

Challenge 21 is a campaign introduced by the British Beer and Pub Association in 2005. It’s now run by the Retail of Alcohol Standards Group, which represents alcohol retailers.

Acceptable forms of ID to prove you are over 18 include:
• A photo driving licence
• A passport
• A proof of age card, such as the PASS card from the National Proof of Age Standards scheme.

It’s a criminal offence to use false or borrowed ID to gain entry to licensed premises or to buy alcohol.

The maximum penalty is a £5,000 find and up to 10 years in prison.

To fully enjoy your wines we recommend drinking in moderation. All still wines offered by the glass are also available in a 125ml measure. 25ml measures of all spirits available on request. Vintage and ABV’s are subject to alteration.

Food and Drink

All prices include VAT. A discretionary 12.5% service charge will be added to your bill. If you require any information regarding allergens please ask a member of our team

Cash Handling

Where possible, to minimise the risk to you and to our teams, we would ask that only contactless payment methods are used at this time.

Tobacco

It is illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18 and we have the right to refuse sale.

Personal Belongings

The wine bars are unable to accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. Please guard against the loss of handbags, coats and other personal belongings.

Booking Policy

GROUP BOOKINGS

  • In order to confirm your booking for tables of six and over we require a deposit of £10 per person to be paid. By paying the deposit you are agreeing to our booking’s terms and conditions.
  • We are unable to guarantee any provisionally held bookings. Every effort will be made to contact you for confirmation if another enquiry is received, however we reserve the right to offer provisionally held space to other customers.
  • For parties of six and over, if a customer cancels or modifies a reservation with more than five days’ notice, we will refund 100% of the deposit. If the reservation is cancelled with less than five days’ notice, we reserve the right to retain all or part of the deposit.
  • If the agreed minimum spend is not reached, the balance will be charged on the day of the event.
  • Any variation in numbers of guests or quantities of pre-ordered items should be communicated to the wine bar no less than 48 hours ahead of the booking. We reserve the right to withhold part of the deposit to cover costs in the event of no-shows for dining tables or substantial reductions in attendees of drinks events.

PRIVATE HIRE BOOKINGS

  • In order to confirm your booking, we require a deposit to be paid. For private hire parties, the deposit will be 50% of the agreed minimum spend.
  • We are unable to guarantee any provisionally held bookings. Every effort will be made to contact you for confirmation if another enquiry is received, however we reserve the right to offer provisionally held space to other customers.
  • If you cancel the booking with more than 21 days’ notice, we will refund 100% of the deposit. If the booking is cancelled with less than 21 days’ notice, we reserve the right to retain your deposit.
  • If the agreed minimum spend is not reached, the balance will be charged on the day of the event.
  • Any variation in numbers of guests or quantities of pre-ordered items should be communicated to the wine bar no less than 7 days ahead of the booking, or we reserve the right to withhold all or part of the deposit.
  • A hire fee will be agreed in advance of your event. There is a statutory requirement for licensed door personnel in the event of a private hire and if required a late license fee. The cost of which will be charged to the customer.

GENERAL BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • For all bookings during the Christmas period a deposit of £10 per person is required to confirm your booking. If you cancel with more than 48 hours’ notice, we will refund 100% of the deposit. For cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to retain all or part of the deposit.
  • All deposit amounts will be redeemed against your final bill on the date of your booking, without exception, unless by prior arrangement with the wine bar manager.
  • If the deposit is not to be redeemed against the bill, it can only be refunded to the card or bank account that was originally used for the payment. This refund can take up to 7 working days and is processed by The Company’s central accounts team.
  • All outstanding bills should be settled on the date of the event unless account facilities have been formally agreed in advance.
  • Any request for account facilities should be made at least 30 days in advance of your booking. We require you to provide your Company information to validate and credit check before any account facilities are agreed. We reserve the right to refuse requests for account facilities. We also reserve the right to cancel the booking without notice if, prior to the event, we become aware of any deterioration in the financial situation such that we reasonably consider that payment for the booking is unable to be fulfilled under this private hire contract.
  • You are requested to provide final menu choices, along with any special dietary requirements and final numbers of guests at least 10 days prior to the event. The wine bar is unable to guarantee availability of any products pre-ordered with less than 10 days’ notice.
  • We kindly request you to vacate the area at the agreed time or an additional hire fee may be charged. Please be advised that all lunch bookings are required to be vacated by no later than 4pm, unless by prior written arrangement with the Manager.
  • If your booking is made by a third party booking company which provides additional entertainment, decorations or other facilities, insurance documentation will be required at least 48 hours before attendance on site.
  • In the event of an enquiry being handed over to a third party booking agent, we reserve the right to charge additional fees to cover commission payments.
  • You shall be liable to pay for the cost of repairing any damage to the venue where such damage was caused by you or your guests during the event, along with any loss of earnings incurred as a result of said damage or disruption to the venue. We reserve the right to withhold deposits in the event of this situation.
  • If you intend to decorate or dress a hired area you must request and receive permission in writing from the Manager and use appropriate fixtures. Any damage made may result in the deposit being retained.
  • Our liability will be limited to 100% of the charges paid or payable by the customer under this booking contract.
  • We will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury to the customer’s property, or the property of the customer’s guests or other persons for whom the customer is responsible.
  • We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance of our services as a result of causes beyond our reasonable control – these include strikes, terrorist activities, fire or bad weather conditions.
  • You agree not to obstruct the parameters of the venue which are reserved rights of way for fire escapes or do anything which would reasonably be considered as being in contravention of statutory health and safety guidelines or deemed to cause an increased risk in the occurrence of a fire or affect the safety of all persons in or about the venue.
  • We operate the ‘Challenge 25’ scheme, an industry initiative whereby our teams are trained to ask to see photo ID for any customers that they believe are 25 or under. Please ensure that any of your guests who you feel may be affected by this are made aware and carry photo ID. We promote responsible consumption of alcohol and reserve the right to restrict or refuse service of alcohol to anyone who we feel is in danger of becoming intoxicated.
  • Only food supplied by the premises can be consumed on the premises, unless with the prior written permission of the Manager.
  • Only drinks supplied by Davy & Co Ltd can be consumed on the premises. Should you wish to purchase wines that are not on the wine bar list, delivery can be arranged from the extensive selection available through our wine merchants and corkage fees can be arranged on the most agreeable terms.
  • Wines, beers, spirits and other consumables are subject to availability and we reserve the right to provide alternative wine, beers, spirits and other consumables at the event without notice.
  • The following methods of payment are accepted; Cash in pound Sterling, American Express, Visa debit, Visa credit, Mastercard. We also accept advance payments by BACS transfer. Please note that any BACS payments must have cleared into our account by the date of the event.
  • A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to your final bill on the day of the event.
  • All prices on the date of the booking include VAT. No VAT is charged on the deposit itself.
